Who is Mijaca?

My name is Michael Cary also known as Mijaca in the dancescène.

I’m a person who really  tries to put my whole heart and soul into dance. I do that because it is one of my biggest passions. ( also known as my life ?). My other passion are spending time with family, Friends, life partners a.k.a my squad. We all have our own individual passions and the same passion which is dance. We also share many same goals. If you look at my life partners in my crew it will really reflect who I am as a person.

My sister and I were raised by my grandmother(she is American btw). Also do I have 3 brothers. I am 21 years old by the way.

Where did you grow up?

I was born in Zwijndrecht which is close to Rotterdam city in the Netherlands. I lived there till the 3rd grade in elementary school. After that I moved to Vleuten and finished elementary school there.

Not too long after that I relocated back to Zwijndrecht and finished highschool in Dordrecht. Also did I graduate from the dance school in Utrecht Overvecht called “Creative college” it is an street style school where you learn a lot of stuff about the whole hiphop dance-scene.

So your greatest passion is dance?

That is correct and my fam “the squad” as well ofcourse.

Because i do literally everything with dance. I think in dance; I move with dance and I cannot imagine that i will ever completely stop dancing.

This also goes for the fam. I can’t imagine the fam stopping any time soon.

Dancing is also a way of dealing with my personal stuff. It brings me joy and I love being joyful with other people. I travel more due to dance as well. My whole life is influenced by music and dance.

What other passions do you have?

I love doing so much stuff it is hard to name them all. I am interested in a lot of things. Doing photo-shoots is one of these things.

I really like doing them and it would be so funny to see these pictures when I am older and look back at them.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time??

I will be teaching at the creative school starting from September when the school year starts.

But in five years I will be traveling a lot and going on big trips. I will meet a lot of dancers and exchange experience and knowledge with them through dance and words.

I will have my own project where people of all ages can practice their passions like me.

What are some of the best freestyles you have done?

That is really hard to say. What is for sure, my best rounds have not been recorded. (This always happens :’D)

My second round versus Wael was pretty dope though.

What are some of your favorite freestyle songs?

Pfffff hardest questions so far!

I love so much varieties of music. It is way too hard to say which one is my favorite. Can’t pick a favorite, I like a lot of tracks. But my favorite Genre would be Hiphop and more.

How would you advise beginners to create their own dance style?

Just dance, go out and just go.

Do not listen to what other people say about your dance, especially when it is negative.

Take the positive energy with you. Take the energy from people who only have the best interest for you and for your dance.

Always accept your style in every way because it is you and you need to accept yourself.

One of my favorite rounds was my first round against Joker. Check it out.

Do you teach?

I will be teaching very soon. Furthermore, I really hope to be giving classes at ‘Touchee Dance Company’ in Utrecht, but I am not sure about that yet. Rode Sneakerz in Leiden will also have me as a teacher from time to time. Besides this, I am always open to teach other people.

Find me on FACEBOOK.

Who do you look up to in the creative world?

So many people like really!

Every one I know has such an creative mind which I really appreciate in them. I really look up to a lot of people.

Examples are :

  • The squad are my biggest inspiration;
  • My grandmom who I call “nana”;
  • My grandad;
  • And so many dancers.

Favorite female artist?

“Aii jai jai! A lot!

Remy Ma is one, Lauryn Hill, Young ma etc etc” Michael laughs.

My fam squad is a big group of dancers producers dj’s rappers and singers. One for all, all for one.

DO you have other talents?

Well, I like to customize shoes :D.

Introducing graphic art by Daniel Nizzy! CRAZY TALENTED!

Published

on

‘The beginning is always tough, but always have in mind what you can achieve when you get there” – Daniel Nizzy

The artist himself

My name is Nwabueze Chukwunonso Daniel, I am from Anambra state(Nigeria), the 2nd child of my family. We are a family of 4 actually, 3 boys and a girl.

I attended air force secondary and graduated in 2015. Now, I am a student of the University of Agriculture Makurdi.

I just had a love for cartoons and artwork, I had a passion for it. I went into graphics right after my graduation from secondary school. I focused on cartoon graphics mostly. And as of 2016, I looked more into it. Although I wasn’t that good at it…

When did you discover you had a talent for Graphic Design?

Well, I can’t actually say. I just had a love for cartoons and artwork back then. I was an artist and I loved drawing and sketching as well!

“The talent was already there, I just had to improve on it.” – Daniel Nizzy

Who inspired you to start graphic designing?

I had so many inspirations. People online were the most inspiring though like Kingston, Madskill Jeremy and so many others. During that time my designs were not as good as theirs. So I put more work into it because theirs were already awesome.

Did you study to become a graphic designer or is it a natural talent of yours?

Study? Kind of! I guess online videos and YouTube videos were one of the things that guided me. The talent was already there, I just had to improve on it.

Daniel Nizzy – Graphic designer

What are your goals with graphic designing?

I would like to work for well-structured companies. A nice pay would be very nice too. I would like to take graphic designing to a whole new level because it has helped me a lot in my life.

How many hours does it take to make 1 logo or 1 portrait?

It depends on what the customer wants. Because being a graphic designer, creativity is needed and much thinking too. I can’t really say any design has a specific timing. But as for portrait, an hour or more is okay, without any distractions or interruptions.

Daniel Nizzy – Graphic designer

How can fans contact you?

They can reach me through my personal mobile (08160309746) (Nigerian Line) or they can hit my inbox through my Instagram handle @daniel_nizzy, Or they can reach me through my place of work which is at ‘Meeting Point Photography‘ based in Nigeria.

Any advice for others who want to become a graphic designer?

The beginning is always tough. But always have in mind what you can achieve when you get there. Just keep pushing. If you need any assistance, you can always send me a Direct Messgage.

Where does ABOUT PARIS LONDON come from?

People often ask where our name comes from. The idea of ABOUT PARIS LONDON started in 2013 when we got pregnant. A pregnancy that turned into an idea: starting an online fashion business where people could find “get-rid-of-the-box” funky clothes, accessories and games for children and adults.

How long have u been running this company?

A website was registered in January 2014 and www.AboutParisLondon.com went live in May 2014.

At first, it started off as a blog about affordable fashion, but then immediately changed into a blog about daily looks of our baby girl after she was born on June 5. We gave her the name Paris-London.

In March 2016, ABOUT PARIS LONDON‘s online store officially became a fact! And obviously with affordable price tags.

Nowadays, ABOUT PARIS LONDON is Amsterdam’s craziest online funky fashion store and offers the dopest styling services for young and old!

Besides our exclusive fashion brand, we offer lots of custom designs. My magic hands do whatever they feel like, I guess. Call me Hans Kazàn.

CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE!

Melanin Wonder: Why did you choose to represent children often in your brand?
Children are our future!

Children are our future!

Whitney Houston once said in one of her songs;
I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody’s searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfill my needs
A lonely place to be
And so I learned to depend on me
I decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone’s shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I’ll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can’t take away my dignity”
Diversity in media is very important. They need to see a reflection of themselves in our society.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

We (Adults) need to be and give the right example to (our) children. Many of them ánd us deal with insecurities, low self-esteem, depression etc.

They need to EMBRACE themselves.
They need to LOVE themselves.
They need to BELIEVE in themselves.
That’s why REPRESENTATION MATTERS.

How did you come about your personal style?

In my mind, I always wanted to be and dress a certain way. In reality, it never happened. I dressed like Victoria Beckham (classy) and my hair looked like Kelis (mohawk).
Daphne in 2011

Daphne in 2011 the Old style.

Begin 20s, I started to change my whole image and decided to be myself, the person I always (already) had in my mind since I was a child: THE REAL ME.
THE REAL DAPHNE who stopped listening to other people’s opinion and followed her own path.

It was the beginning of my “transition” and the end of being trapped in a box that wasn’t meant for me.
That’s when the start of ordering clothes overseas happened. Back then, you couldn’t find a lot of crazy stuff in the Netherlands.
When it comes to clothes, accessories & jewelry, Holland wasn’t IT. So, I bought a lot of stuff from China, Japan, Korea, UK or the States. And that never stopped. My love for Asia is UNREAL.

Who is your favorite artist?

Start looking up some K-Pop songs on YouTube. BIG BANG is one of my favorite boybands. 2NE1 was my favorite girlband. Unfortunately, they call it quits. MEH!

Where can people find your for advice?

Go and visit www.AboutParisLondon.com. We offer styling services and advice. We can help everyone. Like Aaliyah said: “Age ain’t nothing but a number.” And I ain’t talking about R.Kelly.

Have you ever thought of showcasing in Fashion Shows?

We were asked plenty of times to participate fashion shows in the Netherlands and the UK. We decided to have our “own” first fashion (style) show in Amsterdam. Sooner than you think! So, stay tuned!
And ofcourse, we will look out for (kids) models on social media. So, be prepared to receive a DM from APL.
“We gon’ slide in your DM.”

So, don’t forget to refresh your “Berichtverzoeken” once in a while.

What are your plans for the NEAR future?

• We will launch APL MODELS: Amsterdam’s first diversified kids agency.
• We will have our first fashion show.
You better be at our first fashion show. It’s going to be LIT! #FamkeLouiseVoice

What do you think of people who frown upon your style?

I live in my own crazy futuristic world. I always smile. Even when it’s negative. I’m very open minded. I just got that “I don’t give a F#%K about what you think of me” attitude and I try to raise my children the same way. I want them to be themselves AND believe in themselves. We’re just a crazy, happy family minding our own business.
“Do what you gotta do and we’ll do what we gotta do: being silly, crazy and most important.. ourselves.”
GET RID OF THAT DAMN BOX!
